Nikki Reed another name with Nicole Houston “Nikki” Somerhalder is an Ameriacan Actress who was born in 17 may, 1988. She is also a screenwriter, singer, songwriter and a model. The film “Thirteen” directed by Catherine Hardwicke brought her light in 2003. She was credited with Hardwicke as a co-writer of the screenplay and also she played the leading role. She appeared in several films later, some of them are “Lords of Dogtown”, “Mini’s First Time”, “vampire Rosalie Hale in the twilight Saga”.
Nikki Reed was born in California (West Los Angeles). She is the daughter off Cheryl Houston, a beautician and Seth Reed, a set designer. Her older brother is Nathan August and half younger is Joey Reed. On several interviews she said that her early home life was complicated. She was raised by her mother after the divorce of her parents when she was only 2 year old. Reed was grew up without any religion though her mother was Cherokee and Italian and father was Jewish. She has identified as Jewish because her brother had a Bar Mitzvah and she was around some Jewish practice.
When she became 14 years old in 2002 she moved out from her mother’s house and began living independently. Her apartments were mainly in Los Angeles area. After the success of “Thirteen” she was returned to Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles and she was dropped out after a year. She said that “mothers who were sneaking into the school at lunchtime to confront and harass her about the film” were the reason for stopping her learning there. She gained a high school diploma through homeschooling.
When Reed expressed her desire to involve in acting a friend of her mother named Catherine Hardwicke invited her to work on a script with her. It was a semi-autobiographical film “Thirteen” and finished within 6 days. She was asked to play a role in the film because they were unable to cast, as most young actresses felt uncomfortable for the role.
Thirteen was released in 2003 with positive reviews that brought Reed familiarities in Hollywood. This reorganization brought her next opportunities to work in film. She was invited to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and serve as host on a number of award shows, including the Young Hollywood Awards (2003) and the Independent Spirit Awards Nomination Show, followed by the West Independent Spirits Awards, both in 2004. She has been cast several times as sexually advanced, precocious teenagers, including her character in Lords of Dogtown (2007), also directed by Hardwicke. She is active from 2003 to present.
Reed met Paul McDonald and after dating they got married in 16 October, 2011. Reed filed for divorce in may 2014 and it became final on 2 January, 2015. She again began dating with actor Ian Somerhalder in mid 2014. They confirmed their Engagement in February 2015 and married on 26 April, 2015 in Topanga, California.
